Veteran’s Day weekend fishing on the creek

Turned out to be a parade of animals, but fishing was pretty good on small, and I mean small, midges. Weather was great this weekend, dry and climbing temps that are pushing off the snow in the higher country. This keeps up we may have to head higher for Thanksgiving.

Great sunrise from camp

Rare pheasant sighting, without being flushed by the dog.

Bull moose were still hanging with each other at the start of the weekend.

Large herd of deer still in the area, didn’t see the light-colored fawn though.

Maybe even better sundown

Heron was trying to fish a lot of the same water as I was.

Starting to get testy though, by Monday the big ones were on the move alone.

Good size buck was always around the herd trying to stay hidden.

Mornings did get cold. Took the top ice out of Red’s dish so he could get a drink this morning but turns out he wanted the ice…

The corner of the field near camp was busy every morning. Game camera caught these in the span of 10 minutes on Tuesday morning; the chase has started.
